Parker has awesome day at Lyng!

Lyng is always my favourite round on the calendar. The weather’s always superb, the paddock’s in better nick than my front lawn and the track is just special, certainly one of the hardest on man & and machine and can leave the mechanics with their head in their hands, but who would argue against it being the best track in the land.

Qualifying

Parker started the day as he meant to go on, posting an amazing 7th fastest time to get into the Superpole for the first time, joining his teammate Noble who qualified in 11th. In the Superpole itself Parker secured 8th with Noble in 12th.

Race 1

Neither rider had a great jump out of the gate but both pushed through with Parker in 10th and Noble 12th by the end of the first lap. Noble was struggling with his ongoing hand injury and was unable to make the progress he would normally expect but still fought through to 9th at the finish. Parker was showing superb pace and by lap 3 was up to 8th and had Carl Nunn in his sights. After chasing the MVRD pilot down he eventually managed to make a pass stick on lap 10 and although Nunn fought back Parker managed to pull away for an impressive 7th.

Race 2

With his confidence on a high Parker stormed out of the gate in 5th with Noble not far behind in 10th. Noble spent virtually the whole race on the tail of Carl Nunn and the pair only managed to improve by one place with Noble again finishing in 9th. Parker was having the race of his life as he lapped in the same times as the front four throughout the first half of the race and although he tired towards the end he still managed to rally and almost caught Steven Sword on the last lap, taking an incredible 5th place finish. There were a few spectators taking a quick look through their programs to see who this youngster was who had just out-ridden some of the biggest names in the paddock.

Race 3

Parker was again the quicker out of the gate this time out but Noble was just behind him and half way round the first lap moved past to take over 7th place. With the track now at its roughest Noble was to come into his own and his experience was showing with his choice of lines leading to him closing in on Dougan & Lamay. Parker was also benefitting by following Noble’s lines and looked like he was in for another top seven finish until hit the deck in the woods to drop down to 11th and although he battled to regain the lost positions he could only managed to get to 10th by the flag to finish 7th overall level on points with Nunn in 6th and just one point behind Dougan in 5th. Noble showed how tough he really is by fighting through to end the day on a high with 5th place to finish just one point behind his teammate in 8th overall.

The team’s next outing is at Silverstone for the Red Bull Pro Nationals on 20th June.
